Infinite Skyline — The Oculus, NYC
For Emporio Armani, Montgomery Studios designed Infinite Skyline, a temporary pop-up installation at The Oculus in New York City. Situated within one of the city’s most active transit interiors, the project created a momentary interruption in the rhythms of commuting, inviting visitors to enter a suspended, atmospheric reconstruction of the New York skyline.
The installation used a darkened infinity room, one-way mirrors, internally lit laser-cut buildings, and small LED stars to produce an expanded spatial field. Through reflection, repetition, scale, and controlled illumination, the project transformed the skyline from an exterior urban condition into an immersive interior experience.
Conceived as both spectacle and pause, Infinite Skyline explored how temporary architecture can alter perception within public space. The work offered visitors a brief encounter with the city as image, atmosphere, and emotional landscape: an endless skyline held within a room.
